Everyday English - Present Simple and Verbs of the "Daily Routine" in English

Hello there, language enthusiasts! 🌞📚 Are you ready to explore the world of daily routines and simple present tense in English? Don't worry, it's not as complex as it might seem – in fact, it's the key to describing your daily activities clearly and simply.

Picture this: You wake up in the morning and want to talk about what you usually do. Do you say "I'm wake up," "I wakes up," or "I wake up"? We say: "I wake up." These small changes in verbs can make a big difference in your communication.

Here are the basic rules of the present simple tense:

For main subjects (I / You / We / They), use the base form of the verb.

Example: We go to the gym every day. (Subject + Verb...)

However,

when the subject is in the third person ( He / She / It )

1. we add 's' to the base form of most verbs.

Example: He eats breakfast every morning. (Subject + Verb+ S ...)

2. For verbs ending in 'o', 's', 'x', 'sh' or 'ch', add 'es' to the base form when the subject is He/She/It

Example:She watches TV in the evening.

3. For verbs ending in a consonant + 'y', change 'y' to 'ies' when the subject is He/She/It

Example: He carries a heavy bag.
